About Huddle Up

Our Story

Where to start, hmm!!. Ok, back in 1964 there was a guy and a girl. Well, maybe that's a little far back. A good starting point is about 26 years ago when I joined the United States Air Force. After joining, the Air Force told me I was colored blind, so my options of jobs were slim. Since I started my cooking career at Vee's Donuts in Sulphur, I figure, being a cook wouldn't be so bad. So, I signed up to be an Aerospace Food Technician. Wow, got to love the military names. Move up 23 years and still serving in the military, only now as a weekender with the Louisiana Air National Guard. I saw an opportunity to live out my dream and have my own resturant. It started with a new themed franchise that I found in Houston, turns out, that was the only good part of the opportunity. The next part was getting the money. A few other franchise opportunities and some lessons learned, it was apparent I could have to go on my own. So, one night at the kitchen table, a little Jack, well a lot of Jack, Huddle Up Sports Bar & Grill was created out of the minds of the whole family. I was always wondering what I was going to do to occupy my weekends once I retired from the Louisiana Air National Guard, now I know. I hope you enjoy what we here at Huddle Up have to offer.
